Welcome to another episode of SWM.   We have a lovely interview with Integrative Psychotherapist Delores McPherson. I met Delores when I attended one of her support groups for 'Black Mature Women' aka BMW.  Delores shares aspects of her career and her current therapeutic work with young people in receipt of Youth Offending Services (YOS). Delores also has a private practice and undertakes consultancy work.  In today's interview, she shares thoughts on the value of self-care and the perils of self-neglect.  She speaks about how she needed to take time out to look after herself and now makes self-care central to her emotional health and wellbeing.  She also shares some tips on how we might manage our professional boundaries more effectively in relation to our demanding roles. Delores has embarked on supporting Black Mature Women and in the new year has exciting plans to offer Black men a safe space to share and express themselves and their issues - on Thursday 11th Feb 2021 Delores and her colleague Tony will facilitate a virtual 6-week group programme entitled 'Black Men real talk'. For further information contact Tony on 07525 841 816 or Delores on 07535 020 339 Why not share the podcast, leave a review and share - this helps to grow our audience and get the word out.
