Definition and Pathophysiology

The University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy invited outstanding educators from around the country to participate in developing this course as a multidisciplinary foundation for health professionals in diabetes management. The contributing faculty members are nationally recognized educators and practitioners in the disciplines of pharmacy, nursing, medicine, behavioral psychology, medical nutrition therapy, and exercise physiology. All faculty have professional practices and help patients manage their diabetes and they provide a wealth of experience with patients.
