NGFP Local Lunch

Arts

Hello and welcome to our weekly NGFP Local Lunch podcast trailer where we provide you, our lovely listeners with everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene! Local lunch is brought to you by me Shona Munro and me Penney Poyzer of Nottingham Good Food Partnership the go to organisation for sustainable food in our fair city. This week we will be on location again! We will be off to the magical Bulwell Forest Garden which opened its gates to the public in 2012. We will meet Babs the founder and Jo who is main grower. We will also have a chat with local people who use the space to find out why it is so important to them. Bulwell Forest Garden is open 4 days a week, with volunteering opportunities in gardening and wildlife conservation (or just as a lovely space to come and hang out!). Health and wellbeing is the heart of everything they do at BFG, including weekly yoga sessions during the summer. The primary aim of BFG is to grow fruit and vegetables together as a community, and share it out. BFG provide regular family workshops during school holidays, offering environmental crafts, gardening and healthy cooking workshops, and adult learning courses spread out throughout the year. Check our events page for more info. You can also sample their produce at a weekly Lunch Club during the summer, where BFG cook a 2 course vegetarian meal with freshly picked produce. So tune in this Friday at 1.30 for the full podcast Simply Search for NGFP Local Lunch on your browser and we will pop up - we are all over the place now - on Apple, Google and Spotify!
