Mary here. Today I am writing the show notes myself, in the 1st person, because this week's subject is VERY personal. You might want to sit down. While it's no secret that I don't have children, it is a secret to most that (deep breath) I never WANTED to have children. As I typed that sentence, in my head I could hear an audible gasp many women will have when they read it. Why, because I've heard it so many times in person, when I made that confession.Today I am sharing MY story of how, even as a young girl I never had the motherly instinct and how when I got into my adult and childbearing years, the things other women said to me when I made the same statement. While it wasn't common to ADMIT it back then, there is a fair number of GenX women like me, who decided that having children wasn't for them either.I'd like to take a deeper dive into this subject in the coming weeks.
