This episode is going to focus on the Carroll High school football team leadership program. The culture of of the football team is geared toward putting the team above yourself, holding your teammates accountable, and doing your job. Coach Dinan takes the mandate to build young men out of boys very seriously, and he makes it a focus in all that they do as coaches and players. Coach Dinan got his start in coaching at Snider High School, and he has learned much about molding young men from his friend and mentor, former Snider Head Football coach Russ Issacs. The number one purpose of a high school education is to prepare young people to become contributing members of our society that go on to improve our community. High School athletics, the marching band, the show choir, and the speech team among others are an extension of the classroom, and an opportunity to help our children become the best that they can be. The X’s and O’s, the wins and the losses are important, but they aren’t end all and be all. In the case of high school football, it’s about helping young boys become future leaders in whatever field they move into.
