The CDFI Fund, a program of the U.S. Treasury, supports community development by providing financial and technical resources to specialized lenders serving underserved areas. Its key programs include Financial Assistance and Technical Assistance grants to strengthen CDFIs, the New Markets Tax Credit Program to attract private investment, the Bank Enterprise Award to encourage bank partnerships, the Capital Magnet Fund for affordable housing, and the Bond Guarantee Program for long-term capital. Additional initiatives, such as the Equitable Recovery Program, Native Initiatives, and the Small Dollar Loan Program, further expand access to affordable credit, build institutional capacity, and drive economic growth in low-income and distressed communities.
