This time around we sat down with one the latest mayoral candidates, David Alvarez. David is the city councilman for District 8. He is the son of a farm worker and grew up in one of San Diego’s toughest neighborhoods, Barrio Logan. He met us at his campaign headquarters witch is also his garage. The soft-spoken Alvarez is confidante he’s going to win this and is trying to cast himself as the “new normal” or “new typical” face of San Diego. It was enlightening and interesting.
