On Sept. 16, faithful from throughout the diocese of Saginaw gathered for a banquet and silent auction to benefit seminarian education and vocations.During his address, Bishop Gruss encouraged those in attendance to support vocations to the priesthood and religious life. He shared specifics on how to help promote vocations including, putting prayer and the Eucharist at the center of vocational work. Bishop Gruss also discussed how powerful a personal invitation can be as he cited a USCCB study that showed that 78% of those to be ordained began to consider the priesthood after being invited to do so. Bishop Gruss also discusses the important role that fathers have in the spiritual lives of their children and encourages all faithful whenever possible, to share their own faith story.
