July 2021 is all about the biographies. Well, at least fictionalized biographies are lovingly referred to as biopics. Jonathan (@berkreviews) and Corey (@coreyrstarr) explore some famous individuals' stories through their favorite medium; cinema. This was a hard topic to narrow down just the five movies they are going to review this month as there are many big ones on their gap lists, but many of these are really long! As far as the podcast goes, each episode features an in-depth review of the movie for the week. They begin with a spoiler-free review before diving in completely after the needed spoiler warning. However, before getting into the review of the week, Jonathan and Corey discuss what other movies they've seen since the last episode as well as anything else they feel like discussing. To help them decide which of the many films to watch each month they started creating themes for them all. Week 2: 42 (2013) Plot Synopsis: In 1947, Jackie Robinson becomes the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era when he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers and faces considerable racism in the process. Directed by Brian Helgeland Cast: Chadwick Boseman T.R.
