Being You: The Rules of Engagement- a few years ago a friend said to me that the word "authentic" or being your "authentic self" wasn't her favorite sentiment. I've thought about it for a while and now realize that the concept is flawed. People say that freely but it often means be your authentic self with conditions, or up until a certain point. With that said, my truth is that being my authentic self has been challenging, painful and sometimes hard work. Yet and still- it's the way to go.
