We *start* overeating because food is the one thing we feel we can control. We *keep* overeating because food has become yet another thing OUT of our control. So what happened!? And what do we do about it!? So many of us, especially during these crazy COVID times, have turned to food as something we can use to ease stress, have some "fun," and feel a sense of control in an otherwise out-of-control world. We eat to feel better. We eat to pass the time. We eat because it's something we have direct control over. ...... until we don't. After a while we've realized, the food doesn't fix the problem. The food doesn't make us feel better for longer than a fleeting moment. The food doesn't pass that much time, after all. But by that point, it's too late. We've developed a new habit. We've trained our brains that the food IS the answer. So our brains continue to demand MORE. This is where a decision must be made. You either keep going on this path of self-destruction and waistline-expansion, OR you break the pattern.
