We *start* overeating because food is the one thing we feel we can control.⁣ ⁣ We *keep* overeating because food has become yet another thing OUT of our control.⁣ ⁣ So what happened!? And what do we do about it!?⁣ ⁣ So many of us, especially during these crazy COVID times, have turned to food as something we can use to ease stress, have some "fun," and feel a sense of control in an otherwise out-of-control world.⁣ ⁣ We eat to feel better.⁣ ⁣ We eat to pass the time.⁣ ⁣ We eat because it's something we have direct control over.⁣ ⁣ ...... until we don't.⁣ ⁣ After a while we've realized, the food doesn't fix the problem. The food doesn't make us feel better for longer than a fleeting moment. The food doesn't pass that much time, after all.⁣ ⁣ But by that point, it's too late. We've developed a new habit. We've trained our brains that the food IS the answer.
