Miscellaneous
Ever since I heard the MTV unplugged live performance of 'tu hi re', by Hari Haran/Leslie duet, I have been longing to make a cover of it. And I came up with this finally :). I recorded my voice through iphone, while holding on the strings in keyboard; then added the piano, and other sounds later. All music in this video have been played, programmed, sequenced, orchestrated in my home studio using my keyboard (M-Audio key station pro 88) and computer (Garageband/Reason). No music has been cut or used from the original soundtracks. In between the video, I put slideshows containing some random photographs that I took during my travel experiences in India and US. For vocal practices, I took help from the original song, and previous 'tu hi re' covers by Purnash Durgaprasad - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui8VPm6Vxpk and Aviral Bajpai - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UbpONvwKZY . (I personally believe, Purnash's cover is the absolute best that you will find on youtube, so do check out his video!). # Apologies to my Tamil brothers and sisters. I probably couldn't get the accent in the first four lines correct. I am Bengali, so had to memorize the accent from the original Tamil version 'Uyire'. # You might be surprised to know that the flute sound I used here is not an Indian bansuri, but a Japanese Shakuhachi. I would have definitely used the bansuri in case I had professional bansuri player, or an authentic digital Indian woodwinds library, but I don't. It's way too expensive. In short, enjoy !
