SCRIPTURE TEXT: Judges 10:1-18; 11:4-6; 12-18; 12:8-15 In the hundreds of years that transpire over the course of the Biblical book of Judges, many situations arose in which the people of Israel had to deal with animosity & adversity, both within their own nation among the tribes & regions, and with other groups around them, including the animosity with Ammon that gave rise to the judgeship of Jephthah. But many other “minor” judges also ruled in this time, such as five that we review in this message (Tola, Jair, Ibzan, Elon, & Abdon). Through it all, we see that the one problem paramount in Ancient Israel remains the primary problem of our own day: idolatry.
