Kiki & The Muse

Miscellaneous

In this episode, Kiki has an intimate chat with Hiroko Demichelis - sharing wisdom on the nervous system, our mental health, and how we can use touch & the breath to restore our sense of true, peaceful selves.  Hiro's life-long passion has been helping and supporting human beings to heal, flourish and thrive. This led me to leave the fashion world to pursue two Masters degrees in both Clinical and Positive Psychology from the University of East London, UK. Since then, she's become an advocate for therapies and techniques that can be used to improve psychological functioning and facilitate healing. She learned that when human beings experience trauma, these traumatic events can stay "stuck" in the nervous system and tend to re-appear everytime a trigger awakens them. Ever since, the psychological healing and flourishing of her clients has become her primary focus, combined with the discovery of some techniques that can facilitate the process. Today Hiro is a Registered Clinical Counsellior (RCC) in the province of British Columbia, Canada, and a certified expert in the use of neurofeedback and biofeedback through the BCIA. Her credentials also include training in REBT (cognitive behavioural traning) and EMDR (an evidence based trauma healing technique). She is also trained in Somatic Experiencing. Hiro believes that therapy is key to removing the blocks that keep us from being our most optimal selves and that we all deserve the opportunity to thrive. She the founder and main faculty teacher of Canada's only accredited 200hrs Meditation course, The Lab of Meditation.
