Alex Connor is a PhD student in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focusing on leveraging the useful properties of silk-mimetic polymers for a whole range of applications. Alex knows a ton about protein engineering and synthetic biology, and is using his knowledge as a cofounder of Ripely to create biologically-inspired solutions for food preservation, insecurity, and waste. This episode was a great primer on synthetic biology, but we also specifically discuss some of Alex’s work with biomaterials. Follow Alex on LinkedIn to learn more about him and his progress at Ripely! For more Folds & Curves, visit: https://www.foldsandcurves.com/
