As part of the European research project ‘caught in the act of protest’, Politics students collect research data and distribute surveys at the London climate change march in December 2009. The students’ analysis forms part of wider research into protest movements.

Social Sciences at Southampton has an international reputation for innovative, quantitative methodologies in social statistics. This collection introduces some of the interdisciplinary research themes, including a series involving academics and students collecting and analysing data gathered from the field of the ‘caught in the act of protest’ project.
