With the help of his mom, Sasha, the 11-year-old entrepreneur was able to set up an online and brick-and-mortar thrift store to help parents buy affordable clothes for their children. The cost of thrifting has been on the rise in recent years, especially in cities like New York. This can have a negative impact on the people and families who rely on being able to buy secondhand clothes. Obocho was able to recognize this problem, and that’s why he opened a store where all the items are available for $10 or less. This episode is a great introduction to the topic of the gentrification of thrifting, which will be covered in later episodes this season.
