In November 2019, Downtown 500 brought eight young artists from across the country to Philadelphia - all of whom we found over the past two years through social media. All eight of these artists are a part of the art community on Twitter and have interacted with one another online, but many had never met in person. We were happy to give these artists the opportunity to meet one another and work together for a weekend. We sat down with them to discuss how social media is playing a large role in their art careers and how it is reshaping what it means to be a working artist in our time.
