Miscellaneous

Weight loss is taught to us at every level. No more so than as a Nutritionist / Dietitian. And yet  the data speaks for itself. Most (95%) of diets fail. Many folks regain more weight each time. Weight cycling is metabolically dangerous. Weight stigma kills. Why does it matter? For this episode, we wanted a wider perspective than our own and were so fortunate to be joined by Shana Spence and Sam Previte.Shana is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist based in New York. Her insta is @thenutritiontea and she counsels clients virtually from a HAES and IE-oriented lens.  Sam is a Registered Dietitian based in Florida who counsels clients virtually to make peace with food. She also co-hosts the Drunk Dietitians Podcast and can be found on insta @find.food.freedom.With Shana and Sam we explore:the weight-centric model taught in nutrition education how they learnt about the HAES® frameworkwhen and why their professional shift occurredJoin our community here and together let's change the conversation around food. You can also follow us on Instagram - @whatdoieat.thepodcastMonica - @monicafenwicknutritionNadia - @nadiafelsch
