I get asked this question a lot. How can you avoid being nervous on camera? And I say, nervousness is normal. You just can’t let nerves get in your way. I have had my fair share of feeling really nervous in my career as a TV news anchor, reporter and host. I remember the first time I was on live TV as a reporter. I really thought I was going to throw up. After that, it got easier. I got more confident. And then I would be placed in new situations where the nerves would return, as an anchor with a co-host, as an anchor by myself, interviewing people live on the set, or anchoring shows live on location. It was all new, scary and then, after a while, you lose the nerves and you are able to focus on getting really good at presenting on camera. That’s my hope for you. And that’s why I have compiled my best tips for battling nerves and knocking it out of the park on camera.
