Sun City is a democracy. Sun City Elects its leaders, though not of course directly. In The Aretta successors are elected by a council of predecessors. At The Coil they are elected to compete in contests of skill, which then decide the victors. At Grace Hopper each family gets a vote, not its members. Theirs is a consensus of lineage. The Frontier School requires that you progress through the ranks like a military officer, elected by one council of peers and then another. BASTS students vote on all issues, their council member is only a mouthpiece. Of all of them Second Ring is probably the closest to a true democracy, but even there the voting is complicated by the complex politics of purity.
