Business
Sidekick vs Laptop: I use the internet differently on my phone than on my laptop. On my phone, a Sidekick 3, I follow Twitter, upload photos to flickr, add posts to my myspace blog and chat on IM. With Twitter, when I'm bored, I'll check it. I get excited and think "Oh boy, I can't wait to get home and explore these links I've been finding on Twitter!" Then I get home to my laptop, where I've got photos, Perez Hilton, myspace, video to distract me. I'll sit down to research those links I found on my phone through twitter and get distracted easily. I can focus on the business things on my phone better than on my laptop. Anyone going through that? The lesson: stop going to those time-wasitng sites. Popular photo on Flickr: A photo of a plaque in my flickr account taken in Wickenburg, Arizona, featuring the name "Captain Canada" got over 100 views and 10 comments (unreal for my Flickr account). Lesson: (1) You never know whats going to be popular. (2) I need to tag all my photos. Bad: Six Pixels of Separations is an awful podcast that is CLEARLY a self-marketing tool. I do not recommend it. He reminds me of Joseph Jaffe Good: EXCELLENT episode of TWiT: The Innovator's Dilemma. Steve Gilmor said Twitter is the way he gets his news now. I agree! So refreshing to hear someone say that.
