Following the completion of the 44-game Big Ten schedule, head coach Steve Owens reflected on the 2021 season. The Scarlet Knights earned their best placement and winning percentage in Big Ten play since joining the conference. That included six series wins, a 7-5 record against the three NCAA Regional qualifiers and the most road victories in the league. RU had a stretch of five-straight wins over ranked opponents, capped by an away sweep at Big Ten champion Nebraska. The offense blasted 48 homers (sixth-most in a season in school history) and the pitching staff reached top-10 program marks in strikeouts and least walks allowed. In addition, Rutgers collected seven Big Ten weekly awards to match the number garnered the previous six years in the conference combined, including six freshman of the week honors for the most by a Big Ten team since 2013.The "Inside Rutgers Athletics Podcast" is presented by RWJBarnabas Health.
