Releasing perfectionism isn't easy when you're a Type-A lawyer taught that perfectionism means you have it all together. What no one tells us is that perfectionism is the reason so many of us are anxious, overwhelmed, and aren't creating what we want to in the world. Today I'm unravelling the myth that perfectionism is something to be admired. I'm sharing how perfectionism hindered me in the past, but more importantly, I'm sharing the signs that perfectionism may be stopping you from doing what you want in the world. Some of the hints that you're stuck in perfectionism are: you wait to create what you want your brain comes up with excuses that feel like really smart "reasons" not to start you get into learning more where all you do is accumulate information and not take action you may notice yourself comparing yourself to others you may say things to yourself that you've tied your identity to like: "I'm just not the kind of person who (fill in the blank)...starts a business, leaves their job, writes a book." "I don't know how." "I don't have enough time. I'm always busy." "I'll do it later. Now isn't a good time." "I've never been able to do it before; this time won't be any different." If any of this sounds like you, I'm going to teach you the skills you need to know for releasing perfectionism. There's no time like the present to start. Once you do, you'll be able to tackle anything and create the life you've only dreamed possible. Truly, if I can do this, you can do this.
