You may have noticed that we haven't been around the last couple of weeks! One of those weeks was planned, but the other wasn't, and that's because we had a very upsetting but also unique experience with COVID-19, and we figured that we would spend our time in this episode sharing that experience with you. Our experience was probably different from most people's experience with COVID, mainly because we realized that we had had it several weeks ago without having realized it. Our daughter Kierstyn got very, very sick, probably sicker than any of our children have ever been. She had hives and a rash that were discolored and covered most of her body, and she was extremely itchy. She also had a pretty high fever of 104, and she was just miserable. We knew that something was very wrong, but not once did we suspect that she had COVID, especially since none of the rest of us were sick. Much to our surprise, however, she did, in fact, have COVID. Tune in to hear the details of our story and how we not only worried about Kierstyn and prayed for her recovery but also how the COVID diagnosis put a hitch in so many of our plans. As previously teased, we also reveal how Kirsten got COVID in the first place, and we share what the moral of the story is, to (a) get tested for COVID if you're feeling ill, even if you don't think that you have it, and (b) trust your instincts, and get second opinions. We're so grateful that God protected Kierstyn and that she has recovered, and we are grateful that we still got to go on a planned trip with my family recently. Do you have a unique COVID experience that you would like to share or just a similar experience in general? I would love to hear from you!
