Today we spoke with Chris Burkard - Photographer, filmmaker and storyteller Chris is an American artist and photo-journalist who shoots landscapes, surf, lifestyle, outdoor and travel subjects. Burkard specialises in capturing cold climate environments and cultures such as the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Norway, New Zealand and Russia. He has won numerous awards, published several books and made critically-acclaimed films such as 'Under an Arctic Sky' and 'Unner'. Burkard captures stories that inspire humans to consider their relationship with nature, while promoting the preservation of wild places everywhere. His visionary and creative perspective has earned him opportunities with Fortune 500 clients and to speak on the TED stage. In this episode we speak about marshmallows roasted over volcanic lava, restrictions of specialising in only one medium of capturing moments, sharing work, continuous growth - and what draws Chris to Iceland in particular. We discuss where Chris wants to explore more, where he sees his future, vertical relief, surfing in Lahinch - and giving and offering service to others.
