Today we spoke with Tony Og Regan - Performance psychologist coach and former inter-county hurler with Galway. Ep 116 is brought to you in association with our great partner Avonmore Protein Milk. Check out our social media streams @sleepeatperformrepeat Instagram and @SEPR_podcast Twitter for information on the upcoming Avonmore Protein Milk giveaway! Having competed as a player at the highest levels with the Galway senior hurlers from 2003 to 2013, Tony transitioned into performance support, coaching and leadership development - and in his journey moved away from working as an accountant. Tony has over 15 years’ experience working with leading sports and corporate teams, including All-Ireland GAA senior champions, CEOs, HR directors and support staff. He has a strong background in leadership and mentoring skills – and a proven track record of achieving results at local, national and international levels. We talk to Tony about how working environments can find a cohesive and teamship-rich culture after a period of isolation and distance due to the pandemic. He explains how individuals can respond mentally to a loss of form or a serious injury; and how a player can build confidence, manage lofty expectations and scrutiny - and perform optimally under pressure. We unpack the story about when Tony was dropped from the inter-county team and how he responded to that challenging period. With vast experience in training communication and collaboration with key stakeholders this is one to listen to intently.
