It’s episode 111 and hold onto your butts because we’re heading South, Freakz! We kick it off with US ROUTE 30 IN IOWA which is a stretch of road and not much else. But it does intercept with the mighty MISSISSIPPI RIVER, a geographical treasure packed with history, like that of the STEAMBOAT. The STEAMBOAT had its heyday in the ANTEBELLUM SOUTH, where the horrors of slavery ran rampant as did the POOR WHITES. And a segment of POOR WHITES were called HILLBILLIES. And who were and are the most romanticized HILLBILLIES of all time? The HATTFIELDS AND MCCOYS of course and their never ending feud.
