In our culture, to be a good neighbor is to leave one’s neighbor(s) alone. To be a good neighbor in God’s story is to be someone who moves toward his or her neighbors in love. So we need to move toward them in love, mindful of a culture where, at least on the surface, they want (and expect) to be left alone. Creation: The First Neighborhood In God’s story, we embrace the reality that we are created for relationship with God and others. We don’t leave our neighbors alone, we move toward them.
