Kristen Teaches Topher Sports

Sports

This week Kristen and Topher don't understand drugs, some cheerleaders get sassy in their practice teams and we all work out to eat more Oreos.       TOPHER:  Welcome to Kristen Teaches Topher Sports.  This is the show for people who want to learn about sports, for guys who wanna hear Kristen talk, and for people who want to make fun of me.     My name is Topher Harless and I’m in a sunny Los Angeles.   KRISTEN:  and in Atlanta Georgia, I’m Kristen Ledlow.   Recap of our personal lives T:  Started running again.  Trying to start small. K: Week two of my fitness kick. STILL WORKING OUT. Weekly Sports Recap - Wes Welker suspended for popping molly (the drug, not some girl), Michael Sam given a chance with the Dallas Cowboys, AP Polls released after the first weekend of NCAA football Topher’s Tips - Don’t be the last guy in the room. Topher’s Lingo Assist - “practice squad” Justin or Jerk - Justin Bieber got arrested in Canada after crashing his ATV into a minivan driven by paparazzi and now faces charges of dangerous driving and assault.  Bieber was taken into custody Friday afternoon in Perth County, Ontario. Police say there was a physical altercation between Justin and a paparazzo in the minivan after they had the collision.  Justin was photographed riding the ATV with Selena Gomez Friday in Ontario near his father's home.  Police say Justin was released and will have to appear in court later this month.  He could have a bigger problem on his hands though -- Justin is on probation for 2 years after the egging case in L.A. So, it's possible this arrest could trigger a violation. Wedding of the Week - Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlburg or Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross? Sports Drama  - Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay just pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated ... stemming from a March arrest. 55-year-old Irsay appeared in court Tuesday morning in Indianapolis -- where he was sentenced to 1 year probation and will be subjected to court-ordered drug tests. The NFL has dropped the hammer on Irsay, suspending him six games and fining him $500,000 -- the maximum dollar amount permitted for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Manny Pacquiao is following 50 Cent and Nelly's lead -- bashing Floyd Mayweather for his apparent lack of formal education.  Manny was doing an interview with NJ.com when he started going off on the boxing champ.  "I think I finally understand him ... what he says ... how he acts ... and I don’t like it.”  "But what l learned and heard from him, well, I realize why he is like that. I understand sometimes when the people are not educated they just talk to talk. He sets a very bad example."   Mayweather's erudition has been under attack lately -- with 50 claiming the fighter can't read and Nelly trashing him for allegedly failing to graduate high school.  Floyd has been mostly silent about the attacks -- but his father went off on his behalf ... calling 50 (and everyone else ripping his son's education) as "player haters."
