Comedy
On this episode, I read from an abridged version of “War is a Racket”, a short book and speech by Smedley D. Butler. Butler was a senior United States Marine Corps Officer who, at the time of his death, was the most decorated marine in U.S. history. He participated in military actions in the Phillipinew, China, in France during World War I, and Central America and the Caribbean during the Banana Wars. Later in his life, Butler became an outspoken critic of American wars and also exposed an alleged plan to overthrow the United States government. In “War is a Racket”, Butler discusses how business interests commercially benefit from war profiteering. This recording is for educational purposes only. All rights belong to the author.
